Hello all (potential new users and those registered users who are interested),
I have installed some extra code to your boards so that you should be relatively free of spam bots for a while.
This has also allowed me to re-enable the user activation function. So all new users will get an email (if you are using a free email service [hotmail / gmail] the registration email may go into your spam folder - make sure you check it)
Once you get it click the activation link then you will be good to go.
The new code I added allows administrators to easliy delete inactive users so it is important that once you have registered you activate promptly, as failure to do so may result in your account being deleted. I have just deleted over 3000 inactive accounts so if you have tried registering in the past 48 hours and you can still not access the site you might like to try again (my apologies).
The registration process is fairly easy, it does include some captcha text - this is letters as an image, which you will have to type in the field underneath. Unfortunately this is a necessary evil in the defence against spambots.
Also note that once you have posted 10 or more messages to the board added user functionality will become available in your profile.
If you have any problems don't hesitate to shout ... or email g[dot]north[at]fishingmonthly[dot]com[dot]au
Cheers
Gavin
