|

Guys
It almost goes without saying that the support of our families is crucial to enabling us to participate in this great pastime of ours.
So we thought it might be timely to try and organise a family gathering where people can bring their “significant others” and kids.
What we are trying to do is enhance the social aspect of our sport and let those who play a major role in our lives feel included and perhaps build or strengthen the community aspect of the bream/fishing scene.
What we are proposing is a meeting of the likeminded at the Mounts Bay Sailing Club on Saturday 16th August – just for a short while, say 2.00pm to 5.00pm.
We are trying to organise some give aways for the kids and wives/partners and I can arrange for the BBQs to be operational if required. It will be BYO as the bar will not be open.
Register on this post - numbers attending, kids particularly -we shall take it from there.
Hope the weather will be kind and look forward to catching up with you all.
Cheers
Craig, Dave & Richard. |

Great idea Craig!!!! Now who is my "significant other" that I shall bring? By the way, is this just a social gathering of discussion with no fishing right?
List is as follows:-
Paul Randall, wife and 2 boys
Lone Ranger (Carol), me, myself and I

Thanks Craig. Having re-read the purpose of the whole social gathering. Looks like the purpose is not really for me as I don't have any "significant other".
Sorry, I think I'll pull out as it doesn't really concern me. Hoping this gathering will bring about a wider group of various others I can fish with in the future.
Good Luck! |

Carol
You are interpreting my words too literally!
If you don't have a partner or choose not to bring them then that is fine - just come by yourself.
We just want people to attend and get to know each other a bit better.
cheers

I was hoping there would be fishing involved but there isn't. Yea I gathered its a social gathering to get to know each other and assume its also to discuss how one can get families and partners involved in the future. As I don't have any family, I feel there is nothing I can contribute on this occasion. However in future gatherings if I feel I can contribute, maybe introducing fishing to the family members, or whatever, then I will keenly attend; I think my presence as another female who fishes may help. But for now I'm deep into my other interests like gardening, squiding and crabbing
Steve this kinda gathering should be supported by you and your partner don't you think? No point in moaning and groaning with your fingers as always, jump in and participate, only cost petrol and doesn't affect the back! |

Paul
Mounts Bay Sailing Club is just the other side of Royal Perth Yacht Club - so matilda Bay ramp is very close.

Craig, this a great idea. Unfortunately, my family and I will be away elsewhere otherwise we would definately take part.
Please run another one of these in the future.
Thanks. _________________ Just because you can.....Dosen't mean you should! |

Well thanks to those who replied but sadly due to the little interest we have decided to cancel.
Perhaps we shall revist running it at another time.
cheers
