Hi Halsey,

I have recently been getting into bream fishing with lures, and I have had great success with SX40's and the different Vibes, but I have had no luck with soft plastics Rolling Eyes

Can someone please tell me a little bit about selection of colours, the different styles and jig head wieghts? Is there a go to soft plastic for the Swan, Serpentine and Murray Rivers? (I am fortunate enough to live in between both systems, 20mins to one and 25 to the other.)

No simple answer to this question other than there is no "one go to" soft plastic that works in all situations and places.

Just to complicate things you will find that different people have different favourite lures and all can work on any one given day.

To start out I would look at say green and brown colours maybe with a bit of a sparkle or fleck through them - Atomic softies, Berkley and Squidgies have a range that should suit.

Jig heads of around 1/16 weight size 2 or even 4 should suffice unless you are trying to go really deep or there is a strong current.

If blowies are a problem then the soft plastics won't last long and you may need to invest in some hard body lures - again a huge range to choose from including Halco, Atomic Hardz and look at some blade style too.

Hope that helps - now you just have to work out the various techniques Very Happy

cheers

Craig
